                   Friday night competitions          

POSITIONS TO BE FILLED EVERY FRIDAY EVENING

START UP: At 5.15pm, we need as many hands as possible to take out:-

  • High jump bags, place safety covers and set up support stands and jump bars.

  • Discus 1 crates, poles, ring and net and set up boundary ropes.

  • Shot Puts 1 and 2 trolleys and rings and set up boundary ropes.

  • Shot Put 3/Discus 2 and Shot Put 4/Discus 3 and rings and set up boundary ropes.

  • Long Jump equipment, set up squares of sand for all but seniors, rake pits

  • For Straight and Circular tracks, 1 table and 3 chairs each, with equipment boxes.

TO RUN THE EVENING, we need the following:-

STRAIGHT TRACK              Up to 8 Timekeepers/Judges

                                                   1 Recorder

                                                   1 Computer data input operator

CIRCULAR TRACK              3 Timekeepers/Judges

                                                   2 Recorders

                                                   1 Computer data input operator

STARTERS                             1:Straight Track

                                                   1:Circular Track

AGE MANAGERS                  1 per Age Group e.g. U6 Girls

AGE ASSISTANTS               3 per Age Group (2 officials and 1 recorder)

WALK JUDGES                     (not all weeks) 4 – 6

ANNOUNCER                         1 Announcer

CANTEEN                                2 counter staff

BBQ                                          1 Cook, 2 helpers

2. What athletes do

Athletes are required to:-

  • Be signed in to their age group by an adult responsible for them

  • Undertake compulsory warm-ups (to minimise the possibility of a strain or other injury)

  • Assemble at the marshalling area with their Age Marshal and assisting parents when called by the announcer

  • Participate in between 4 to 5 events through the evening in a friendly competition.

  • Be signed out from their Age Marshal on leaving.
